Work Camps

Are you looking for a short-term opportunity where you can get involved in a community and culture in a grass-roots way? At a Workcamps you can work for up to four weeks in an international location, supporting volunteer projects throughout the world. Often they are sponsored by a religious organization, so read the information carefully if you are not in that denomination to avoid any misunderstandings of the philosophy of the workers.

While you will not be paid, most workcamps provide room and board, and a wealth of opportunities and locations. Read the position announcements carefully and apply early; the opportunities often fill up quickly.

As with any other opportunity, always research the program thoroughly to avoid scams or misrepresentation.

The following organizations have information about work camp opportunities:

Group Workcamps
Volunteers For Peace
SCI International Volunteers
Quaker Workcamp in Mexico
Aidcamps International
Cadip Volunteer Workcamps
