Development Internship Summary

Holocaust Museum Houston is offering a paid internship through the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program to a qualified advanced-level undergraduate student seeking a non-profit development/fundraising career. The internship provides an opportunity to join a knowledgeable and dynamic development staff while gaining understanding of all areas of development—from prospect identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship—in a professional museum environment. The intern’s two major projects (delineated in second and third bullet points below) will afford him or her with specific, marketable experience in the areas of prospect research and donor stewardship. His or her contribution helps maintain, expand and energize the organization’s donor base, which enables the Museum to teach the history of the Holocaust and other genocides while promoting awareness of the dangers of intolerance, prejudice, discrimination and violence worldwide.

Reports to:

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Development, Grants and Research. The intern also works with other members of the development team and assists other departments as required.
