EMPACT Africa Internship, BTT Gateway Job ID 6923

EMPACT Africa is a 501(c)3 international organization based in Austin serving in sub-Saharan Africa. We are working to end the stigma and discrimination toward those infected or thought to be infected with HIV/AIDS. Our method is to empower church leaders to act against the stigma and to become agents of change in their communities.

Our organization has an exciting new opportunity for an unpaid internship position to help expand and enhance our program. The internship involves work in the following areas: assist with donor management using the DonorPerfect software system; assist with our social media awareness campaign; Collect and track program documentation from case managers contracted through CABSA - Central AIDS Bureau of South Africa; track survey results from church leaders and denomination coordinators on our stigma assessment survey; and assist with logging and tracking activities of our partner churches at the local and community level, including HIV/AIDS support group activities in the individual churches. Additionally, this individual will research local resources near the churches and develop a list of potential strategic partners who may provide basic needs services, such as clean water wells, economic self-sufficiency activities and education services.

The intern selected will be mentored and expected to participate in the organization at a meaningful level. The ideal candidate is a foreign student here on visa from a country in sub-Saharan Africa who is studying International Relations, Religious Studies, Public Affairs or Social Work.

To apply, please submit your resume through BTT Gateway. Application deadline is 5/31/2013.
