Keep Austin Affordable Summer Organizing Fellow, BTT Gateway Job ID 6945

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN:
Keep Austin Affordable is a coalition of business, faith, and community leaders in Austin, Texas working to pass bonds in order to fund affordable housing efforts in Austin. The campaign seeks to raise the profile of successful affordable housing models and tell the stories of individuals and families helped by these programs. We wish to make investment in affordable housing an Austin community value so that our city remains a place where low income working families and individuals on fixed incomes like seniors and people with disabilities can still afford a place to call home.

ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP:
The Summer Organizing Fellowship is a 13-week internship program that will equip you with the knowledge and skills to run a Neighborhood Team Model-style field campaign. The Neighborhood Team Model is based on the principles of inclusion and empowerment, and it is at the cutting edge of campaign strategy. Organizing Fellows will help the campaign expand its outreach efforts across Austin and get first-hand experience of what it takes to run an effective campaign. Fellows who complete the program will leave with a full understanding of the most effective tools and methods that organizers use to make change in their communities. The summer program starts in late May and ends in Late August.

To apply, submit a resume and cover letter to carl.walz@foundcom.org. Application deadline is 5/5/2013.
