Refugee Services of Texas Immigration Program Internship, BTT Gateway Job ID 7058

Refugee Services of Texas has an immigration program to assist refugees, asylees and Cuban parolees with family reunification, application for permanent residency (green card), and US Citizenship. 
Responsibilities: 
- Client interaction 
o Greet clients, conduct intakes, copy documents, complete USCIS forms as directed by supervisor 
o Review service agreements with clients 
o Assist with making appointments for clients and collecting immigration program fees 
o Assist clients with referrals to outside services as necessary 
o Help clients contact USCIS customer service as needed. 
- Case file management 
o Assist in creating case files for clients and filing documents 
o Update database with client information 
o Sort and file client mail 
o Send correspondence to USCIS 
o Research immigration law as needed 
- Meetings and Trainings 
o Instruction and supervision will be provided by the BIA Accredited Representative 
o Attend RST staff meetings & trainings as appropriate 
o Attend webinars on immigration law 
o Attend USCIS, immigration network provider meetings as appropriate 

Qualifications: 
- Be a college student in the United States in an undergraduate or master’s program 
- Be flexible, resourceful and organized 
- Be available approximately 20 hours per week 
- Spanish language ability is a plus, as is the willingness to utilize personal laptop for internship
