U.S. Census Bureau – Unpaid Research Internship 

Interns will have the opportunity to investigate a wide variety of social, demographic, and economic conditions in one of our many branches. Areas include poverty, fertility and family, education, migration, and income just to name a few. Hours are flexible, although at least 20 hours a week would be the most beneficial for students and managers. The Census is located in Suitland, MD just off the green line metro. 

Positions Available 
Positions and job duties will vary depending on the area of study and position/series. The Census Bureau produces quality data that help Americans better understand our country- its population, resources, economy, society and culture. We recruit students majoring in the following (but not limited to) areas of study; Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Sociology, Psychology, Demography, Criminal Justice, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Science, or Information Systems Management, Geography and Cartography. 

Basic Qualifications 
U. S. Citizenship 
Enrolled as a degree seeking student in an accredited school 
Attending at least half-time 
18 years or older at the time of appointment 
Must have and maintain at least a 3.0 G.P.A. throughout the entire internship 
Students at all education levels with excellent analytic, quantitative, computer, and communication are encouraged to apply.
