The role: Technical Staffing Associate, New Grad

Being a Sourcer at Google means finding people in hard-to-reach places. Like finding needles in a haystack, our team of sourcers are responsible for discovering the most talented people in the world. As a sourcer on one of our functional staffing teams, you play the role of detective -- tapping into all kinds of tools and resources to uncover the best untapped talent out there. Once spotted, you engage with these passive candidates, learn about their aspirations and interests and help them connect with roles, projects and opportunities at Google. You are both scrappy and resourceful, are able to listen to what candidates have to say and then and connect them with the Google magic.

The Resume Screener owns the first step of the online application consideration process by reviewing all resumes submitted from external job boards and Google's corporate website. You will be part of a global resume review team, using your recruiting background and ability to quickly calibrate to Google’s hiring standards. You will evaluate and identify the best resumes based on defined criteria in accordance with Google’s hiring guidelines and policies. Your speed and accuracy are critical to ensure that all applicants are carefully considered and assessed in a timely manner, contributing to an overall positive experience that candidates can expect from Google. Moreover, your aptitude for understanding various role specific qualifications and zeroing in on top talent for further consideration by our recruiting team will help make a visible impact on Google’s ability to achieve its ongoing growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

-Understand functional hiring needs, position specifications and search requirements to act as a resume evaluation expert for engineering and operations groups
-Partner closely with your recruiters to derive mutually agreeable selection criteria, receive and action feedback, and deliver a high level of customer service every time
-Monitor, review and take action on the daily influx of candidate resumes, accurately screening against defined criteria and recording the outcome of your review appropriately in Google’s custom-built applicant tracking system (ATS)
-Maintain responsibility for entry, maintenance, and integrity of data in Google’s applicant tracking system
-Partner with recruiters, hiring managers and team members to generate ideas, leverage resources and share information that facilitates an effective screening process

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

-Technical degree or direct technical domain expertise i.e. software engineering, computer science, technical product management, etc.
-Expert level understanding of the hiring needs of numerous different technical groups, with specific focus on software engineers, site reliability engineers, software test engineers, etc.
-Proven ability to take initiative, adapt quickly to changing priorities, work with a high sense of urgency and build strong, productive relationships.
-Passion for the recruiting industry and a sincere desire to expand your exposure to this field.
-Familiarity with Salesforce, office productivity tools, web based recruiting technologies and Google Apps.
