Brigid Shea Campaign, Campaign Intern, Application Deadline, BTT Gateway Job ID 7405
Sat, September 21, 2013
The Brigid Shea for County Commissioner is offering positions for campaign interns. Working closely with our Campaign manager, you'll focus on getting the campaign up and running. You’ll direct press calls, help with grassroots organizing, and work on ongoing research projects. Our campaign staff is very small right now, so whoever interns will likely be given a lot of responsibility and freedom in their projects. There will be lots of opportunities to be involved in communications, grassroots, and fundraising. We are pretty flexible for part time and full time interns, though both are likely to have unconventional hours, due to special events and the nature of a fast-paced political campaign.
Other duties for campaign interns will include working on projects relating to all aspects of the campaign, including field tactics, data management, campaign material distribution, new media production, volunteer management and campaign events.
The ideal candidate has a passion for active participation in political process, firmly progressive politics, and cares about the issues that affect citizens on the local level, like efficiency in government, protecting our parks and natural resources, public safety, and a fair labor market.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ambitious self-starter capable of working on your own and creating new projects.
Strong written and communication skills.
Social media and/or blogging experience.
Strong organizational skills for event, calendar, and media maintenance
Experience with database software.
Priority given to those with past experience with political campaigns, field and/or phone canvassing, using a voter database, and analyzing election data.
