YWCA Greater Austin specializes in counseling for women, couples and families. We also provide professional training with opportunities for licensed or certified professional counselors, social workers, mental health workers and others to earn CEUs. Generation YW offers substance abuse prevention services for youth at select middle school and community sites.
Responsibilities: Facilitate evidence-based curricula, conduct presentations and alternative activities at schools and community sites, targeting youth that are at-risk for substance use/abuse; conduct, document and report recruitment, screening, enrollment and service activity of all program participants; establish and maintain a network of community resources to facetted referral linkage for program participants; and, perform other related duties as required by the organization and funding entities.
Qualifications: Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish with verbal and writing skills and the ability to communicate and deliver curriculum-based programming other services; Bachelor's Degree or currently working to obtain a degree in the social services field is preferred; previous experience working in a school environment; experience in the field of substance abuse; sensitivity and ability to work with diverse youth and families in non-traditional settings; ability to multi-task and work in an efficient, professional manner is a must. Must have a valid driver’s license; willing to submit to drug screenings and background check; willing to complete all funding entity required training on a timely basis and to secure and maintain all certification requirements.
This is a full-time (exempt) position of 40 + hours per week that may include a minimum of 2 evenings per week and occasional weekends.
