Bilingual Education for Central America is a U.S. non-profit organization that promotes cultural exchange and affordable bilingual education. Our volunteer-driven bilingual school model creates an environment in which Central American students learn from dedicated volunteer teachers, and those volunteers learn from the community in which they are immersed. Through our in country partnersihps, over 420 children in Pre-K to 9th grade are educated at San Jeronimo Bilingual School in Cofradia, Santa Monica Bilinugal School in Vida Nueva, and Amigos de Jesus Bilingual School in Macuelizo, Honduras by a team of 25 volunteers and 10 Hondurans. BECA's Summer Program is a recreational camp for our students through which we aim to keep them immersed in an English language environment during the summer. 

Summer Camp Counselors will will live in BECA's volunteer housing in Cofradia and will be responsible for planning and executing all daily activities at our camps in either Cofradia or Vida Nueva. Instructors will work with students in first through fifth grades. The goal is to make the summer program a fun way for students to maintain/increase their English language ability. Instructors will plan activities across all disciplines including art, reading and writing, and physical activity. 

Prospective candidates should have a strong record of working with children and should be exceedingly responsible and creative. Candidates are not required to speak Spanish, but it is helpful. Candidates should be willing to work with a degree of ambiguity and should be willing to navigate multiple obstacles to success. A successful candidate will bring enthusiasm to the job.
