Assist in marketing UT inventors’ discoveries, startups, and more at The University of Texas at Austin’s Office of Technology Commercialization.
Interviews will be conducted March 2014.

The following description is for a paid internship. This internship will start as soon as possible and have the potential for extending through the summer and fall. The Marketing/Public Relations Intern is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Marketing Department at the UT Austin Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC). This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and will assist in executing a wide variety of marketing, communications, and public relations initiatives for the OTC.

Mandatory Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have an interest in one or more areas within the communications field, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work in a structured yet entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. They should be self-motivated, a creative problem solver, possess excellent organizational skills, and have the ability to focus on multiple projects.
They should be enrolled in the Moody College of Communication, McCombs School of Business, Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, or the College of Liberal Arts.

Preferred Qualifications
Internal/external communications experience to various stakeholders
Ability to coordinate special projects, campaigns, and events as needed
Ability to assist with development of marketing materials, including copywriting and copyediting
Previous email marketing experience
Social media marketing experience
Public Relations experience (not mandatory)
Brand experience: maintain a consistent look and feel for all marketing pieces
Ability to assist with a variety of projects, performing marketing related tasks as needed
Graphic design experience (not mandatory)
Online research for relevant associations/partnerships, publications, trends, and collateral
