Foreign Language Recruitment Fair 11/9

The FBI invites Liberal Arts students to attend a Foreign Language Recruitment Fair at the UT Austin LBJ School on November 9, 2012 from 9am-6pm.

The FBI is seeking candidates proficient in Arabic, Mandarin, Dari, Hebrew, Farsi, Korean, Pashto, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya, Urdu and many other languages. The FBI has many exciting and challenging opportunities for qualified Contract Linguists to perform interpreting, translating and monitoring services. Full-time and part-time contractor opportunities are available.. Contract Linguists are paid $29 to $40/hour, depending on language skill level.

Some Contract Linguist Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen;
  • Must be fluent at a professional level in English and the foreign language;
  • Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years, unless employed by the federal government overseas;
  • Must be willing to undergo language proficiency testing and a through background investigation.
