Celia Hubert, Graduate Student in Sociology, University of Texas at Austin
Celia Hubert is a graduate student in Sociology and a trainee at the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a master’s in sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s in actuarial science from the Instituto Tecnólogico Autónomo de México. She is pursuing a doctorate in sociology with a specialization in demography at The University of Texas at Austin.
Celia Hubert has experience in policy evaluation, designing and implementing survey research, and the implementation of public policy. She worked for the Mexican Federal Government for 10 years in programs related to development and education such as Progresa (now Oportunidades), the Ministry of Social Development, and the Ministry of Public Education. In her graduate studies at The University of Texas, she is interested in the possible effects of unintended pregnancies on women’s health and well-being as well as the relationship between education and fertility intentions.
