How to Apply to Plan II Honors will open for Fall 2016 applications on August 1

Application deadline for Fall applicants:  December 1

October 15 is the date by which we recommend Plan II applicants complete their ApplyTexas and the honors applications.  The deadline is a "soft" internal deadline.  Nothing relating to the Plan II Honors application closes or cuts-off on October 15.  The priority deadline is there to remind Plan II applicants that Plan II conducts rolling admissions.  And, Plan II reviews applications in the order that the applications are completed.  The later an applicant completes the application, the later that application will be reviewed.  Plan II Honors can only admit students that are admitted to UT Austin.  Plan II admission offers are non-binding and non-exclusive regardless of the date of the offer of admission

Submitting an application on or before October 15 will not guarantee early notification or increase the likelihood of admission.

  • Student Information Form: accessed at MyStatus (Formerly the Self-Reported High School Coursework Information Form) 

To apply to Plan II Honors, submit:

The on-line HONORS APPLICATION, which is accessible only after an applicant has completed and submitted the application.  This application is separate from ApplyTexas.  ApplyTexas will upload within 24-48 hours after the applicant submits ApplyTexas. AFTER ApplyTexas has loaded, the applicant can access the on-line honors application. Details on how to complete your ApplyTexas application can be found at Texas Admissions.

The link to the honors application will appear in the email you receive from the University of Texas at Austin after you submit your ApplyTexas application as a confirmation, ("thanks for applying to UT.")  if you noted an interest in freshman honors programs on ApplyTexas. 

The Plan II PERSONAL STATEMENT is contained within online honors application and must be submitted to complete the honors application.  In addition you must submit the EXPANDED RESUME Plan II tips on the résumé

If an applicant is applying to more than one honors program, all the requirements for each honors program will be contained in the single honors application.  The application will NOT submit multiple honors application, even if applying to multiple honors programs.

Additional Information:

  • Plan II has discontinued the requirement for a teacher or counselor recommendation.
  • Do not send any application materials to the Plan II Honors office.  All materials must be submitted to the University of Texas at Austin Office of Admissions.  Electronic submission preferred in all cases.

An applicant may apply for on-campus housing as soon as the UT Austin application process is complete.  (When the applicant sees the green "complete" button on the MyStatus site.)

Because housing choice order is based on the date of the housing application, the earlier the application is submitted, the better.

Applicants should NOT wait until they receive an admission offer or until they have made their college choice decisions if they want to live on the UT Austin campus.
