2006-2007 Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program: Deadline Nov 30, 2006 for UT nominations.

Attention Sophomore Leaders: Nominations are now being accepted for the UT selection of candidates for the 2006-2007 Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program.

Nomination Process: Interested students must complete the GSGLP information form and have a UT faculty or staff member sign the form to affirm the nomination. Criteria for selection include outstanding academic achievement, demonstrated leadership ability, excellent communication skills and interest in developing a global perspective on world events. Information packets are available at the University Honors Center, Carothers 23, 471-6524 or UHC Web site. Complete information on the program is available at The Institute of International Education (IIE) , in partnership with educational organizations in selected countries, conducts this annual competition on college campuses to identify 100 of the most accomplished second-year students for the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program. The program recognizes students' outstanding achievements and abilities in a public ceremony and awards each Global Leader $3,000.

Fifty of the Global Leaders will be selected on the basis of personal interviews to represent the group at the Global Leadership Institute in New York City in July 2007. The Global Leadership Institute offers this select group of students from around the world an opportunity to examine collaboratively important issues such as global leadership, the new world economy, and international development. World-renowned faculty from leading U.S. universities, guest speakers, and senior Goldman Sachs executives will lead challenging and thought-provoking seminars.
