Anti-Hunger Empowerment Corp Presentation

Tue, November 16, 2010

Please join Plan II alumnus and Truman-Albright Fellow Marissa Duswalt on November 30th, 11:30 a.m., in the Plan II office,  WCH 4.104, for a presentation on the newly established Anti-Hunger Empowerment Corps.

Thanks to USDA’s partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service, a new opportunity has been created for young people to actively work towards ending hunger and addressing poverty through the Anti-Hunger Empowerment Corps.

The Anti-Hunger Empowerment Corps is recruiting young people to help combat malnutrition across America. AmeriCorps*VISTA participants will help food banks and other anti-hunger and anti-poverty organizations in 18 states to build capacity, implement new projects, and provide technical support to organizations in under-served communities.

Because the program runs from December to December of each year, this presentation is especially relevant for seniors graduating in December and for current juniors, but all interested students are encouraged to attend.  The commitment is a 2-year, fully funded program to live in a variety of cities all over the country following graduation.

A light lunch will be served.
