Researchers examine issues from competition psychology and doping, to race, gender and Chinese culture

AUSTIN, Texas -Aug. 4, 2008- The 2008 Summer Olympic Games will be held Aug. 8-24 in Beijing, China. More than 10,000 athletes are expected to compete in the games, including 18 current or former University of Texas at Austin student-athletes.

Researchers at the university are available to discuss sports issues ranging from competition psychology and doping, to race, gender and Chinese culture.


Air Force Major Dies in Training Crash near Guam

Memorial fund honors psychology alumnus

AUSTIN, Texas -July 28, 2008- United States Air Force Maj. Christopher Cooper (B.A. '97, Psychology) died June 21 in an Air Force training crash. Cooper, 33, was serving as the commander of a six-man Raider 21 aircrew aboard a B-52 bomber when it crashed into the Pacific Ocean 30 miles northwest of Guam.
