Andrew Hemmings, research associate of the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory (TARL) at The University of Texas at Austin, will lead an underwater archeological expedition July 30 to Aug. 12 in the Gulf of Mexico to search for submerged evidence of the first Americans.

College Awards Keene Prize for Literature to Michener Center Graduate

George Brant wins for "Elephant's Graveyard"

Michener Center for Writers at The University of Texas at Austin, has won the 2008 Keene Prize for Literature, one of the world's largest student literary prizes. Brant will receive $50,000. An additional $50,000 will be divided among three finalists.

AUSTIN, Texas -June 25, 2008- John W. F. Dulles, professor of American and Latin American studies at The University of Texas at Austin, died June 23 at the age of 95. The son of former Secretary of State John Foster Dulles taught at the university for 45 years.

College of Liberal Arts Names Michael Stoff Director of Plan II

Associate professor of history has served as interim director since 2006

AUSTIN, Texas -June 16, 2008- Michael B. Stoff, associate professor of history at The University of Texas at Austin, will lead the nationally recognized Plan II Honors Program in the College of Liberal Arts. The distinguished teaching professor has been interim director since 2006.
