Catherine Riegle-Crumb and the Gender Divide in High School Physics

Wed, August 14, 2013

Catherine Riegle-Crumb and Co-Author, graduate student Chelsea Moore, recently published “The Gender Gap in High School Physics: Considering the Context of Local Communities” in Social Science Quarterly.  Their research focused around the inequality seen in high school physics enrollment and the how this related to the local representation of women in STEM occupations in the labor force.

Riegle-Crumb recently spoke with NPR about this research.  The STEM Gender Gap audio version can be found here.
