Signature Research Areas

The PRC predominantly concentrates its research in the following four thematic areas: 1) Health Disparities; 2) Parenting, Partnering and Human Development; 3) Educational Inequality and Opportunity; and 4) Socioeconomic Inquality and Work. These represent the current areas of strength of the PRC as well as the areas in which we anticipate the most intense productivity and growth over the next five years.  Many PRC researchers work in more than one of these overlapping and reinforcing areas, and in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams. These areas move well beyond the bounds of traditional demography and are on the cutting edge of population research.  Some important research being conducted at the PRC, though not fitting into one of the four thematic areas, can be found in the Other Research section.
