Dear Colleagues and Friends,
This publication is our fifth annual newsletter. This year's newsletter has been beautifully assembled and edited by Andrea Hilkovitz, Andrij Bamber, June Solomonson and myself and its elegant and professional design is entirely the work of Andrea Hilkovitz. I hope that you enjoy reading about your many achievements and projects this past year as much as we did while we were putting it together.
This fifth issue is the largest we have ever prepared, and we are so grateful to you for sharing your news and accomplishments with us. Just as the newsletter continues to flourish, so do the program and its members. Still, we are eager to continue this trend in next year's newsletter, and we hope that you will send us your news (both personal and professional, both current members of the program and alumni). We welcome your impressions of the field and thoughts about Comparative Literature at the University of Texas at Austin and elsewhere.
