Welcome! The International Relations and Global Studies advising suite is located in the Liberal Arts Building, CLA 1.216. We are generally open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the exception of Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We advise students on a wide variety of issues that include major and minor requirements and options, academic policy, core requirements, scholastic status, and petitions to the Dean.
With the exception of the start of the semester, we do not accept walk-ins. Please call us at (512) 232-6344 or stop by our office in CLA 1.216 to schedule an appointment.
Registration advising sessions are quick (30 minutes or less) meetings to review your degree audit and discuss courses for the coming semester. Registration advising is only required for some IRG students so check your Registration Information Sheet to see if you have a bar. IRG students without a bar may also elect to meet with an advisor. All IRG students have the opportunity to attend an IRG group advising session (dates, times, and locations will be emailed to students immediately prior to registration advising). If you currently are studying abroad, an IRG advisor will contact you via email with special instructions.
Please keep in mind that as an IRG major, you do not have "special" access to courses on the track or World History lists. Please do not contact the offering departments for access. Restrictions may loosen during subsequent access periods.
More information on steps to prepare for registraiton can be found HERE.
