Admissions and Entering Class Statistics

In LAH, we strive to create a well-balanced class that brings together students with various backgrounds and interests.  We try to admit a good balance of students from small and large schools, urban and rural areas, and public and private schools.  As the statistics below will show, we have succeeded in admitting both a talented and diverse student body.

Applications

In 2014 LAH reviewed 891 applications.  (1031 in 2013, 800 in 2012, 886 apps reviewed in 2011, 850 apps in 2010, 985 in 2009)

LAH sent 369 Admission offers  (102 over-lapped with offers made by other honors programs within UT)

Waitlist offers

LAH will typically make 75 waitlist offers. Students must send in a written request to remain on the waitlist.
In 2014, 31 students accepted a spot on the LAH waitlist. 15 students were selected from the waitlist to join LAH in 2014.

Out of the 891 applications submitted to LAH, 290 applications were submitted by males. 601 submitted by females.

Non-Residents

133 applications were submitted by non-resident students.  55 non-resident students were sent an offer of admission.
