Plan II Alumni & Friends Mentoring Project
Welcome to the Plan II Mentoring Project. We are looking for Plan II Alumni who are interested in mentoring current Plan II students. Our goal is to integrate a mentoring element--and thus connect students to potential mentors--into Plan II Career Week, which takes place in February, 2013. Since volunteering for this project will involve personal interaction, first consideration is given to those alumni who live in the Austin/Central Texas area, but anyone interested in participating in mentoring is welcome to submit their information.
To get started, we'd like to plan a meeting for interested folks. In the form below, we have several choices of dates for a possible meeting, but don't worry, if none of these work for you, you'll still have the opportunity to participate.
The Mentoring Project is being coordinated by Plan II Alumni Liaison Phillip Dubov, with the assistance and support of Austin alumnus (and parent of a current Plan II student) David Harakal. David writes,
Though the MBA on my resume was a door-opener, it's the thought process developed through Plan II that is the real key to my success at work and in volunteering. Being able to translate the "big picture" into specific action items and conveying to others how the two fit together is a differentiator it the business world and "out of box" thinking has generated new approaches to solving problems both at work and in my volunteering.
As a Plan II alumnus, you are more likely than most to have a desire to give back to current students. I hope you'll be able to join us. Please bring your thoughts, successes, and failures as the goal for the evening (beyond enjoying the company of other Plan II alumni) will be to brainstorm as we help Phillip Dubov, Plan II Alumni Liaison, to develop a program worthy of the Plan II stamp.
