Plan II Honors Orientation Meeting for First-Years
Wed, June 13, 2012 • 8:00 AM - 10:45 AM • WC Hogg 4.104, the Plan II Honors office (Hogg Heaven) and the Meyerson Room, WCH 4.118
Check-In for Orientation begins at 7:30 am. Arrive and check-in as early as possible so you have time to take your belongs to Jester and get right over to Hogg Heaven for breakfast with your cohort!
Wednesday mornings will start two very busy days for entering Plan II Honors majors. See the Orientation Schedule.
Plan II Honors students begin the day with breakfast at Hogg Heaven (WC Hogg 4.104), giving the students a chance to get to know each other and the director and staff.
After breakfast we begin the curriculum explanation. Your advisers will explain how the Plan II requirements and other major/college requirements, electives and University core requirements work together. After an explanation of the first year requirements, we will hold the Plan II course lottery.
The Plan II advisers' mailing will be mailed on Tuesday, May 29. It will contain the course descriptions for Plan II required first-year courses. Read the World Lit and Plan II Signature course descriptions carefully and try to rank your top four or five choices from both the World Lit and the Plan II Signature offersings. The course selection lottery will occur on Wednesday mornings at the Plan II meeting.
Plan II Signature course descriptions are on-line now. All the World Lit descriptions will be on-line soon. The links, along with other information about Getaway (plus forms), tests and Convocation, will be on the Plan II First-Years page on the website at: http://www.utexas.edu/cola/progs/plan2/current_stdnts/first-yr/
