Thursday - February 28, 2013
Workshop 1:  Pre-Law
Time: 3:30pm-4:15pm
Location: CLA 1.302E

The Pre-Law workshop will feature Pre-Law Advisor Tatem Oldham from Liberal Arts Career Services.  This session will focus on resources and services available for students who are considering law school including information on Pre-Law Advising, helpful hints to help you decide if law school is right for you, tips on what you can do now to make yourself a more competitive law school applicant, information on the LSAT, and how to choose the right law school.  

Workshop 2:  Grad School Planning
Time: 4:30pm-5:15pm
Location: CLA 1.302E

This workshop will feature a presenter from the Center for Strategic Advising & Career Counseling.  This session will focus on resources and services available for students who are considering graduate school including information on how to research graduate school programs and tips for submitting strong application materials.


Workshop 3:  Careers in Healthcare
Time: 5:30pm – 6:15pm
Location: CLA 1.302E

This workshop is designed to educate students on the vast opportunities in the heath care field.  Lesley Riley, Director, UT Austin Health Professions Office, will provide information on health career options and alternatives, the resources and service available for pre-health students, and tips on what you can do now to make yourself a more competitive applicant to professional school.   In addition, Professor Stanley Reiser from the UT School of Public Health will discuss the possibility of creating a new pilot program for Plan II students to earn a Graduate Certificate in Public Health during their junior and senior years in Plan II.

 

Plan II second-year students are REQUIRED to attend two Career Week workshops or the LACS Boot Camp in addition to the Monday night Alumni Panel to fulfill requirements of the Plan II Sophomore Advising Program.
