Workshop 1

PRE-LAW

Time: 3:30pm-4:15pm
Location: CLA 1.302B

The Pre-Law workshop will feature Pre-Law Advisor Tatem Oldham from Liberal Arts Career Services.  This session will focus on resources and services available for students who are considering law school including information on Pre-Law Advising, helpful hints to help you decide if law school is right for you, tips on what you can do now to make yourself a more competitive law school applicant, information on the LSAT, and how to choose the right law school.                                                                                                     

Workshop 2

CAREERS IN HEALTHCARE & PUBLIC HEALTH CERTIFICATE

Time: 4:30pm – 5:15pm
Location:  CLA 1.302B

This workshop is designed to educate students on the vast opportunities in the heath care field.  A panel of Plan II seniors pursuing careers in medicine will talk about their experiences pursuing this career path, navigating course requirements, and going through the application and interview process.  Information about the resources provided by UT's Health Professions Office will also be provided.  In addition, Professor Stanley Reiser from the UT School of Public Health will discuss the new Plan II Public Health Program through which students can earn a Graduate Certificate in Public Health during their Jr. and Sr. years in Plan II along with fulfilling several requirements for the Plan II Major.

Workshop 2

GRADUATE SCHOOL PLANNING

Time: 5:30pm-6:15pm
Location:  CLA 1.302B

This workshop will feature a presentation by Program Coordinator Laura Weingarten, veteran Career Counselor from the School of Undergraduate Studies.  This session will focus on resources and services available for students who are considering graduate school including information on how to research graduate school programs and tips for submitting strong application materials.

 

Career Week events are open to all Plan II students.
