Tara Buentello receives the 2007 Rowe Koehl Student Travel Award

Congratulations to third-year student, Tara Buentello, for receiving the 2007 Rowe Koehl Student Travel Award. The award is intended "to encourage and allow students to pursue independent research and discovery through an experience abroad." The award committee chose Tara from a superb group of twenty-three applicants. Tara, a Dedman Scholar, participated in the Telluride Association Summer Program at the University of Texas at Austin prior to her high school senior year.

Tara will travel to the Yucatán peninsula in Mexico this summer to learn about the significance of ancient, sacred caves to the contemporary local population.
