Some interns work in Washington, DC, and others have the opportunity to work at an embassy overseas. Positions are both paid and unpaid, and many are available during spring, summer or fall. The US State deparment is currently accepting applications for the Summer 2011 Student Internship Program. The application deadline is November 1, 2010.
Ambassador McMullen has over 28 years of diplomatic experience and has lived, worked, or traveled in 89 countries. Between foreign assignments, he served for three years as Visiting Professor at the Military Academy at West Point,
where he taught International Relations and Comparative Politics. Ambassador McMullen has authored many scholarly works and is a three-time recipient of the State Department’s Superior Honor Award.
