Posted: February 25, 2014
The Mary Lu Joynes Endowment in the Plan II Honors Program and the L.L. and Ethel E. Dean Endowment in the School of Undergraduate Studies present a special guest lecture:
Lisa Solomon writes about food—and about life, history and culture through her experiences with food. Her literary essays and feature articles have been published in several newspapers, national magazines and anthologies, and her holiday food columns have been published in dozens of media outlets across the country. Solomon will bring an assortment of homemade pastries to the Joynes Reading Room, to share with students as she discusses food writing. She will read her first published food column, and share her writing about a continually evolving range of nourishing food experiences.
The Joynes Reading Room is located on the east side of the Carothers Residence Hall at 2501 Whitis Avenue on the University of Texas at Austin Campus. Paid parking is available at the garage at 25th Street and San Antonio.
