Graduate Student,

Nathaniel Blanco

I am a graduate student in the Categorization and Decision Making Lab at the University of Texas in Austin. I am interested in how people use information from their environments to form new concepts and make decisions. I study human thought by testing computational models of basic cognitive processes.

Specific interests at the moment include how exploratory decision-making is affected by things like aging, depression, and genes; how categories are spontaneously formed to support decision-making; improving cognition using transcranial laser stimulation; and cognitive training in older adults.
