The Department of Spanish and Portuguese presents “Si Me Querés, Quereme Transa,” a talk by author Cristian Alarcón.
“Si me Querés, Quereme Transa” is a nonfiction book based on the war among drug dealers in the Great Buenos Aires. A former fellow of the Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano (founded by Gabriel García Márquez) and currently one of its academic directors, Alarcón conducts workshops related to “Narcotráfico, ciudad y violencia en América Latin.” He coordinates the Proyecto de crónicas sobre pandillas, organized by the Coalición Centroamericana para la Prevención de la Violencia Juvenil.
The event is cosponsored by The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies.
