Five Austin area high school students who competed in the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NACLO) will compete in the invitational round, hosted by the Department of Linguistics at The University of Texas at Austin.
NACLO is a contest for U.S. and Canadian high school and middle school students. Contestants compete by solving compelling and creative puzzles in linguistics and computational linguistics. Winners of NACLO are eligible to compete in the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL), one of twelve international high school science Olympiads. No prior knowledge of linguistics or second languages is necessary.
