Humanities Texas will host its fifth annual Holiday Book Fair at the historic Byrne-Reed House on the corner of 15th and Rio Grande Streets in downtown Austin on Saturday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
More than twenty noteworthy authors will take part in the festive event, including Bill Minutaglio and Steven L. Davis, Steven Harrigan, Nick Kotz, John Kerr, Joe Nick Patoski, Chase Untermeyer, Jesús F. de la Teja, Jerome Loving, Ricardo C. Ainslie, Sarah Cortez, Roy Flukinger, Jeffrey Kerr, Nan Cuba, Diana Lopez, Hector Ruiz, Don Tate, Andrea White, Bill Wright and Marcia Hatfield Daudistel. These authors and their work represent a cross section of the humanities, from history and photography to biography and poetry and more.
Humanities Texas will have books available for purchase at a discounted price, with all proceeds benefiting Austin flood victims. Holiday shoppers and guests are invited to visit with the authors and purchase signed copies of their books. Free parking will be available in the St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church lot on the northwest corner of 15th and Rio Grande Streets.
Coffee will be available alongside a sale of homemade and donated pastries and baked goods. All of the proceeds from the bake sale will also benefit Austin flood victims.
