The Texas Politics Project Speaker Series and the Department of Government will host a panel discussion, "The First Amendment and the Changing Landscape of News in Texas (and Beyond)." The panelists include:

  • Carlton Carl, chief executive officer and executive publisher of the Texas Observer
  • Chisty Hoppe, the Austin Bureau chief of the Dallas Morning-News
  • Harvey Kronberg, the founder, editor and publisher of the Quorum Report, and online political newsletter dedicated to Texas Politics
  • Evan Smith, the chief executive officer of the The Texas Tribune
