Researchers, policy analysts, and legal experts from the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Russia, Turkey, Mexico, and Peru will address a wide range of topics at a conference "Migration during and Era of Restriction."
Topics will include changing immigration policies, ethnic tensions, border control, deportations, remittances, return migration, legal and human rights issues affecting migrants, impacts of removals in sending countries and the prospects for continuing high emigration rates.
The event is sponsored by the Theresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies, the Center for European Studies, Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, C. B. Smith Sr. Centennial Chair in U.S.-Mexico Relations, and others.
