"Friday Night Lights" to Film on Campus

The filming of scenes for an episode of the "Friday Night Lights" television series will begin late Monday, Nov. 2, in a lecture room of the Will C. Hogg building and the office of Dr. Larry Carver in the adjacent Dorothy L. Gebauer building at The University of Texas at Austin.

Inner Campus Drive near the filming site will remain open throughout the filming, which is scheduled to begin after 4:30 p.m. and end before midnight.

The production on campus by Northern Entertainment Productions, Inc., will involve a crew of about 100 people and 100 "extras" acting as students for the classroom scene.

"Friday Night Lights," a television series about high school football in Texas, broadcast the premiere for its fourth season Wednesday, Oct. 28. The show is running on DirecTV's 101 Network, where it is shown exclusively until NBC starts running the program in 2010. The filming on campus scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2 is for this season's eighth episode.
