The Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services (LAITS) presents a talk by Katrin Erk, assistant professor of linguistics, about the Shalmaneser project, a machine learning toolbox for shallow semantic parsing.

Adam Rabinowitz will present his Geodiachronicity (GeoDia) project. This second phase of the spatial timeline project begun as "TimeMap" will produce streamlined and easy user interfaces for the entry of spatial/temporal data into a map-timeline mashup and the connection of that data with DASe image (and other) resources.

LAITS holds monthly "Friday Technology Forum" presentations, designed to showcase the ways faculty put technology to work in the classroom.
