Event: University of Texas at Austin professors will be joined by a journalist and political consultant to discuss the emergence of the Tea Party in American politics and the future of the powerful but controversial movement in Texas and the United States.

Background: Associate Professor of Government Sean Theriault will moderate a panel discussion that looks at what the Tea Party movement and its supporters have achieved over the past two yeas and the role the party of Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann could play in the Congress and the 2012 elections.
The discussion is sponsored by the Liberal Arts Undergraduate Chapter for Research (LAUNCH), the University Co-op and the University Unions Student Events Center Events Co-sponsorship Committee.
