Office of Research, Facilities, and Information Technology

Dan Slesnick

Associate Dean
Daniel T. Slesnick

Welcome to the Office of Research, Facilities, and Information Technology in the College of Liberal Arts. The College has a long history of supporting the research activities of an outstanding group of dedicated researchers. Our grant office provides a number of pre-award services that are intended to help faculty and students apply for extramural funding from a broad spectrum of sponsors. We also provide workshops to those who are new to the process of applying for grants and fellowships.

Facilities and space play crucial roles in the research process. Our office manages the construction and renovation of our buildings across campus. This includes such diverse projects as the construction of the Liberal Arts Building, as well as the renovation of neuroscience labs for the Psychology department. Our facilities are modified or constructed to support the needs of the outstanding faculty who are doing cutting-edge research.

Of course, information technology is another critical input to the research process. We ensure that our faculty, students, and staff have state-of-the-art technology to support their research programs. Within the College, our administrative computing team is developing only systems that will move the College to a fully paperless work environment. Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services (LAITS) has been building technology classrooms across campus and providing enrichment training and support for the use of these classrooms that optimizes the time of effort for all its constituents.
