Call for Nominations - The 2010 Volvo Environment Prize

Dear Research Contacts,

We encourage your nomination of faculty and scientists in your area.  This is not a limited submission.

The Volvo Environment Prize is awarded for "Outstanding innovations or scientific discoveries which in broad terms fall within the environmental field". Priority is given to an individual or to a group of named individuals, rather than to institutions.

The Volvo Environment Prize is awarded for "Outstanding innovations or scientific discoveries which in broad terms fall within the environmental field". Priority is given to an individual or to a group of named individuals, rather than to institutions.  The Volvo Environment Prize consists of a diploma, a glass sculpture and a cash award for SEK 1.5 million (approximately EUR 140 000 or USD 190 000).

  • The span of disciplines and activities for which nominations can be made is very wide. The work of nominees should be based on scientific grounds.
  • Nominations must clearly describe and explain the nominee's main achievements and their importance.
  • Nominations should be submitted in English using the official form available on the Internet.
  • Please, also attach the requested documents; 1) Description of achievements 2) Curriculum Vitae and list of publications and 3) Letter of reference.
  • A nomination remains valid for three years. Please note that self-nominations are not accepted.


Timeline:
December 1, 2010:  closing date for nominations
November 2011:  prize ceremony in Stockholm
