Austin Affordability Summit

Community Event

Saturday Sep 7, 2013 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM | St. David's Episcopal Church, 301 E. 8th Street

Liveable City, a policy research and advocacy organization that considers and acts upon quality of life issues in Austin, will host a unique and impactful Affordability Summit. We'll have seven speakers present for seven minutes each on Technology Access, Transportation, Housing, Water, Healthcare, Taxes, and Quality Food Access. After that we'll turn things over to the audience/participants and break into groups to continue conversation and generate 100 ideas for a more affordable austin.

We're about enhancing our knowledge base; we're about community engagement, we're about policy solutions. The director of ICUSP, Inc. and UT Austin faculty member, Dr. Kevin Michael Foster will help facilitate the proceedings. We hope that our friends, neighbors and colleagues will come out to join the conversation. ... The work we'll do that Saturday afternoon will influence policy in the city of Austin for the next 10-15 years at least. ... Do you want to have a say? We hope so.
