Anita is the surprisingly tender story of a young woman with Down syndrome who is uprooted from her protective home after the 1994 bomb attack on the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires.  Left on her own to wander the city, Anita meets a compelling  cast of characters including an alcoholic photographer and a family of Chinese shop owners.  Directed by Marcos Carnevale, Anita stars Norma Aleandro, sometimes called the Meryl Streep of Argentina, and includes a moving portrayal by Alejandra Manzo as Anita.  A tribute to the dignity of the human condition, Anita brings tears and laughter to the screen in equal measure.
