Russia Day is a CREEES outreach event involving one hundred or more high school students, held in the spring semester. Students come with their teachers to the UT campus to get an "immersion experience" in Russian culture, language, traditions and history.

We offer ethnic foods, Russian games, Cyrillic alphabet lessons, Russian music and other opportunities to experience the intellectual and cultural riches of both the world's largest country and the university environment. Local

Nauryz is the traditional spring festival celebrating the new year held throughout the Kazakh communities of the former Soviet Union. Nauryz is one of the most important national holidays among the Kazakh people. The holiday is usually celebrated at the spring equinox, when day and night are of equal duration, representing the time of the year when the difficult winter ends and spring renewal begins.
