TWO Truitt Scholarship Recipients Announced:

Thu, March 6, 2014

The Bruce E. and Kathleen B. Truitt Russian Studies Scholarship is typically a stipend of $1,000 dollars awarded to a CREEES graduate student. The Truitt Scholarship is granted to students based on an application form and essay that demonstrates academic merit and describes current research interests within the CREEES region.

The award is usually awarded in the fall semester, and can include a tuition waiver for out-of-state residency. This year was a little different in that the competition took place in the spring, but also yielded different results than most years.

This year the selection committee, which includes Mr. & Mrs. Truitt, was so impressed by the candidates that they decided to award two scholarships, a second $500 scholarship in addition to the $1,000 award!

Join us in giving a big "Congratulations" to Daniel Jimenez and Abe Layman!
