Vijay Mahajan, former dean of the Indian School of Business, holds the John P. Harbin Centennial Chair in Business at McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. He has received numerous lifetime achievement awards including the American Marketing Association (AMA) Charles Coolidge Parlin Award for visionary leadership in scientific marketing. The AMA also instituted the Vijay Mahajan Award in 2000 for career contributions to marketing strategy.

Dr Samira Sheikh was awarded a DPhil in Modern History (completed at Wolfson College, Oxford in 2004) on the society and politics of Gujarat between 1200 and 1500 CE. Before commencing her studies at Oxford, Samira had completed a BA in History from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and an MA and MPhil in Medieval History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Samira has been a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College since 2002.

Sheldon Pollock is The William B. Ransford Professor of Sanskrit and South Asian Studies at Columbia University. He was educated at Harvard University (AB mcl Classics 1971; AM Sanskrit and Indian Studies 1973; PhD Sanskrit and Indian Studies 1975). His areas of specialization are Sanskrit philology and Indian intellectual and literary history, and, increasingly, comparative intellectual history.
