Los Olvidados (1950)
by Luis Buñuel

In his exile through Mexico, the father of surreal cinema,
Luis Buñuel (1900-1983), created one of the best motion-pictures in film
history: the Mexican nonrealistic film entitled "Los olvidados" (The
Forgotten Ones). The movie depicts the lives of two boys, surviving
in the streets of a developing Mexico City. It is the story of the
fatality of destiny, the absurdity, and irrationality of life itself.

This 1950's film was recognized in Cannes as the best-directed movie,
and is also in second place among the best 100 Mexican
Films.
