Polit is the author of Cosas de hombres: Escritores y caudillos en la literatura latinoamericana del siglo XX and the co-editor of Meanings of Violence in Contemporary Latin America. Recent books by Ricardo Ainslie, discussant, are The Fight to Save Juárez: Life in the Heart of Mexico's Drug War and Long Dark Road: Bill King and Murder in Jasper, Texas.
