Graduation Application

Important Notes:

* Do not apply to graduate if your intent is ONLY to participate ('walk') in the ceremony. Go to the College of Liberal Arts Student Division in GEB 2.200 to sign the walk list. You should only fill out this application if you expect to have your degree conferred in May.

** We suggest that you run an Interactive Degree Audit (IDA) prior to applying online in order to verify your eligibility for graduation. If any degree requirements are not met, please contact one of the Student Division Advisors.

*** You must meet certain conditions to apply online. If you are eligible to graduate yet do not meet all of the conditions for applying online, you may still be eligible to apply for graduation in person, in the Student Division.

Please review the conditions for the online application listed below:

  1. You must be currently enrolled at UT Austin. (Enrollment in UT Extension or UT Correspondence does NOT constitute current enrollment)
    Not enrolled? You may be able to graduate in absentia.
  2. You must have credit for at least 120 hours, including current courses.
  3. You must have declared your major AND minor officially in the Liberal Arts Dean's Office.
    * Not declared? You may be able to declare officially online.
  4. You must have a current UT and major GPA of at least 2.0.
  5. All your Credit-by-Examination needed for degree requirements must be claimed and added to your transcript.
  6. You must NOT have any incomplete ('X') on your transcript to be able to apply online.
  7. You must NOT be currently enrolled at another institution.
  8. If you are currently enrolled at UT and in a University Extension online course (UT correspondence) that is required for your degree, you must take the final exam no later than April 13, 2012 in order to guarantee certification.
  9. You may NOT be completing a degree in another UT college this semester to be able to apply online.
  10. You must NOT have already received a degree from UT Austin to be able to apply online.

  • The online application is open February 2 to April 2 (5:00 pm) for spring 2012.
  • This is a secure application. When you click on the button below, you will be asked for your UT EID to identify yourself to the Student Division as a UT student who is eligible to apply for graduation from the College of Liberal Arts.
  • If you have forgotten your UT EID or if you have forgotten your password, go to Room 16 in the Main Building, show your photo ID and have it reset.
