A degree plan is an outline of degree requirements for a major. A degree plan is not a degree audit.
The college provides degree plans for planning purposes only. Consult with an academic advisor to be certain about degree requirements.
Sample four-year plans are intended to serve as general examples of how a student can progress towards graduation in four years. A sample four-year plan is not an official degree plan. It is a semester-by-semester chart listing the courses a student might take in order to fulfill the degree requirements of a particular major and stay on track to graduate with their class in four years.
Students should consult with their academic advisor to determine the course of study best suited to their academic goals and interests. The "Blank Four-Year Plan" (PDF) is available for students to create their own individualized plans in consultation with an academic advisor.
Please select the appropriate Undergraduate Catalog year range for your degree plan. Catalogs specify degree requirements and policies and procedures that govern your graduation. It is imperative that you speak with your advisor to determine which catalog applies to you, since the requirements and lists vary by catalog. Failure to comply with the rules of your catalog can result in taking classes that will not count toward your degree.
NOTE: In general, catalog eligibility is based on your first semester enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin or at another Texas public college or university. You may be eligible for a different catalog. Speak with your academic advisor to discuss catalog options.
Catalog degree plans and blank four-year plans are provided in PDF format, which requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader program in order to view. Most computers and/or browsers are configured to read PDF files, but if yours is not, you may download the free reader from Adobe.
